Even more rofl worthy is quoting a passage from your own book... if a write a science fiction abt myself going to mars can i use that as proof that i have been to mars? Biskuti, "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God." Dude.. ive been to mars, i have the book to prove it! Ive seen it, go buy my book and give me ur money.

There are a couple things bothering me about this YTMND: Yes, because they rejected God as their personal saviour they were going to hell, but this YTMND makes it seem as if God is damning them for what they've said. Also, it seems as if there is no hope for redemption. I also dislike the use of the term 'infidel', and it should have been something like 'unbelievers' or something. Something that bothers me is that this could scare people away from Christianity rather than convince them.

Romans 3:23 - for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. ALL have sinned and condemned themselves to hell. John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. ALL can be saved if they accept Jesus gift, Him taking our sins by dying for us. I realize your YTMND wasn't contrary to this, however: The impression you get from watching it is that they weren't good enough for Christ.

You're a f*cking idiot. You've obviously never done any real research on these people, because if you did, you would know that all those stories are exageratted fabrications of what really happened. All of your information is from ignorant Pro-Christian sources who couldn't tell the truth from thier *ssh*l*e. Pathetic. You and your whole hypocritic religon aren't scaring anybody. F*ck off.

"The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God." "You're a god damn idiot" -Me. I can make quotes too. "John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." Using the bible as a means to argue is like using a science fiction book to prove life on mars. You dolt.

As well made as it is, the bias so extreme it's totally unbelievable. Perhaps had you not shoved, "these are people who are going to hell and they are evil and deserve it so I'm going to put a scary black background and red text and call them infidels" down our throats the whole time, it could have had some impact. It's simply impossible to watch and learn from the content without thinking, "what a bible beater."

I watched the whole thing, and I must say that it was excellent, perhaps going by a bit too fast on some slides. I'm not sure about the choice of 'infidel' as a word, it is a bit strong and may contradict with the inherent doctrine of Christianity. I am indeed a Catholic, and while I do believe that those who do not follow our religion are infidels, I think that for the pure sake of spreading the religion that this is a bad choice of vocabulary.
September 25th, 2006

7 minutes? No thanks. I have a strong belief in God, but wether others do or not is there business. People's dying words dont really PROVE anything, though it is intresting.

Now, I sort of liked your "Why God Exists" ytmnd because it was well thought out and had (what I thought) was good reasoning to it. It also seemed tasteful. This on the other hand looks like it was meant to scare people into christianity which is evident from the creapy music and choice of font/colors (not to mention its content). Even though I'm a christian, there's nothing I hate more than people trying to scare others into believing what they do by stating horrible consequences (hell).
September 25th, 2006
(0)
That's the same reason why I don't like the traditional southern baptist preachers. You should be focusing on the good that can come, not the bad that could happen if you don't believe. In short, I completely disagree in what you're trying to do with this ytmnd, so because of it, you get a one... +1 for effort.

Let's say that you're on a deathbed. You have been a strict atheist all your life. You see a passing priest in the hospital. You wonder if maybe the religion is true. It's something many people would ponder as they end their life, especially as they're dying. But the idea that after death there is a punishment seems ludicrous to me. If somebody has sinned, they'll be punished in life, not the afterlife. I believe in God (not as strictly as Christians view him) but I don't believe in Hell.
September 25th, 2006

Also, the use of the term "infidel" is very offensive to atheists/ agnostics.

BTW... "Expect your site to be deleted if it lacks humor and includes any of the following: anime, extreme racism, hardcore pornography, anything illegal, pictures of your friends, inside jokes, etc" This site has none of those and is permissible according to Max. Enjoy." Read it. It says "if it lacks humor AND includes any of the following". So, it lacks humor but has none of the following. He's not against the rules, wa-chow.

"Expect your site to be deleted if it lacks humor and includes any of the following: anime, extreme racism, hardcore pornography, anything illegal, pictures of your friends, inside jokes, etc" Boy did this site not only lack humor, it was one of the worst YTMND's I have ever seen. I could have made an arguement on every single page, with evidence enough to back it up. YTMND's are supposed to be fun, and sites that rant about religion aren't meant for this website!

First off, interesting ideas. But I agree with what was said earlier. This is very similar to the whole "Fire and Brimestone" approach. If there were some more including what the non "infidels" had said or done then maybe it would be more believable. and second, "needs NEDM" is probably the worst comment anyone could make. While I enjoy the occasional NEDM, it can only be used so often.
September 25th, 2006

The sound was ok, the bloody text was very dramatic, however it lacked substance. It needed a more balanced opinion with recent documentation. Maybe next time you should include how others see buddah and other religous figures during near death experiences. Its better to show more of the scientific perspective since it is more credible.

Cyano, I'm afraid there's not much science in recording the last words of dying people with an eye to divine the truth of the afterlife (pun). On top of that, I thought it was obvious by now that whetstone is not interested in nonChristian worldviews.

I'm glad someone is willing to stand up for their beliefs on the internet. Everyone spamming negative comments on this site is displaying the same sort of intolerance that the Islamic Extremists are showing in our world to day (and to be fair the same intolerance that Christians showed for Muslims and Jews during the crusades). Most of you are probably 12 and attend church every Sunday because your mother makes you go. I'm not sure if i agree with the site or the religious beliefs that he's...
September 25th, 2006
(0)
...advocating, but I'm glad he's willing to take a stand. You can maturely disagree with someone, but the rampant flaming of this site shows nothing but sheer stupidity.
September 25th, 2006
(0)
titanium, have you ever actauly felt what its like to not have to go to church on sunday?
September 25th, 2006
(0)
uh, incase no one has noticed, its not flaming. its more like truthful counter-arguments about why whetstone, along with many other Christians, as opposed to other religions, use fear to scare people into believing, rather than good, encouraging points. any religion that's even half- confident about their religion being the "correct" one, would not need to scare people into theirs, nor would it probably even care if others believed in theirs. go read up on Buddhism, and just about any other religion.
September 25th, 2006
(0)
I have two big complaints in regards to this: The word "Infidel." That is an EXTREMELY intolerant word. Even I felt slightly offended by its use. Also, some of the slides went by too fast.
September 25th, 2006

Go read up on Christianity, for that matter. Catholicism was party to some of the world's most famous atrocities, but today it is one of the most peaceful organizations out there. Many protestants are the same way, even though they have an equally bloody history. Almost no religion can say truthfully that its followers don't have blood on their hands (usually in massive amounts), no matter how peaceful the teachings of that religion.

But certain fundamentalist extremists, in Christianity as well as Islam, are fanning the flames of holy war NOW. (Or in the case of extremists in the U.S., psyching up their followers into that mindset.) Those are the ones to watch. Bringing up ancient history proves nothing. Example: RIGHT NOW, ON THE INTERNET, there are people claiming, not simply that Catholics aren't Christian, but that "The Roman Catholic Church is the beast" of Revelations. http://www.articlebeach.com/article66691.html
September 25th, 2006

whetstone, Infidels.org is a website run and populated by very extreme atheists who use the term "infidel" as a badge of honor in a comical way. For you to use it to label all non-Christians is presumptuous and arrogant on your part. Go ahead and keep making your YTMND's and giving money to the site, but know that, as a guy who has many Christian friends in real life, you are doing them a great disservice by your self-aggrandizing attitude.
September 25th, 2006

F*ck you & f*ck your bullsh*t religion. I live my life by good morals & no c*nting fairy-tale book (Bible, Koran, etc) is going to change me into some brain-dead cult worshipping retard. At least Scientology is honest about robbing & killing people.

Hmm... I guess that I myself, being an infidel, will be consumed by hellfire and jumped upon by demons. I can only tell you that if being "good" is a requirement for going to "heaven" then it isn't worth it. I can only smile at my newfound low heating costs. I may even buy a time share.

September 25th, 2006

How about this: you are seriously misrepresenting Christianity. Fear of hell should not be used to try to scare people into religion. You are scaring more people away anyway. Jesus told us to love sinners, even enemies. He didn't say to call them infidels and become a fearmonger. You disgust me.

September 25th, 2006
(0)
*sigh* I miss the days when ytmnd didn't have the sorta sh*t. Honestly, what is being accomplished by this? Okay, infidel conotations, whatever, but seriously. Waste of time, and not just for those who had to sit through it. Seriously, you would accomplish a lot more for your cause (I'm presuming salvation of some sort) by having an earnest, face-to-face conversation with somebody on the street. Flawed logic based on biased sources ain't gonna solve much.
September 25th, 2006
(0)
I have asserted on this site many times that I am a Christian, and I have supported your works in the past. But I'll come out and say it. This is NOT the way to reach people. I would 1 it for its unneccesary hostility towards athiests (the use of the word "infidel" is a VERY touchy subject), but I'll 3 it for the way so many have automatically responded with the typical anti-Christian hostility that one can sadly come to expect from YTMND.
September 25th, 2006
(0)
If you don't want to be called an infidel, stopping calling Christians fundamentalists. If you don't want to be called a fundamentalist, stop calling non-Christians infidels. Both sides find the terms equally offensive. The two sides can meet halfway; all that is needed is mutual respect and maturity.

Most of those testimonies were given by Christian reverends, I'm sure you would get all kinds of accounts from people of different faiths. An obviously biased source referring to an event to which a limited number of people were present in the distant past is not the most reliable source of information.

Regardless of what anyone thinks of Hell or the afterlife, one must find this fascinating. However, I do find this somewhat condescending and a bit forthright. Regardless, this is your most well-made one yet.
September 25th, 2006
(0)
All this proves is that there's some weak-willed skeptics that hedged their bets when they died. Still, 5'd for religion on YTMND.
September 25th, 2006
(0)
So if I have a bad dream, I'm supposed to interpret it as something my soul is seeing? Come on, if there are two realms life and death it isnt possible for us to hear it. It's a subconsious creation of a scared mind nothing more. To believe that the last cries of a dead person could be interpreted as their cries from a soul is just stupid.

Too bad your credibility got destroyed when almost all of your sources were from religious figures. Nice use of impartial testimony.
September 25th, 2006

I 5 this for the presentation and thought provoking content. Now, I am not a religious man, but these testimonies are from people who generally didn't care for religion (even criticized it with smugness, at least when I do it, I do it eloquently and from a purely intellectual perspective). It should be known that that website with the index has an obvious Christian bias. What happens to the Buddhists? You never hear from other religions about this phenomenon, perhaps there is something to this?

Don't you get it? God created religion as a way to test us. He blessed us with the power of logic and reason. If we believe in a religion, then we deny the gifts he has given us, and we are condemned to hell. (Like that great Gamma Ray song)

Why condemnation and fear? Why not hope and love? Are we so lost as Christians in this modern culture that we have resorted to the techniques of the dark ages, fire and brimstone? Also, why the hell "infidel?" Makes you sound like you are going to blow someone up.

Very well done. I myself have seen the other side, that being Heaven, and I know that when I die I'll be welcomed by Jesus and he'll show me to my cousin and my grandfather. For those of you wondering how I've seen the other side, some dreams are ones in which you travel there, and you see all of the limitless possibilities of what you can do. My Father has loved me and taught me well, and I know that my Brother will welcome me with open arms before I get to embrace my Father with love and tears of joy.

I like it artistically. However: the word 'infidel' does have negative connotations as a previous poster said; and the Bible doesn't teach of eternal damnation in 'hell' - not according to the Anglican Church, Jehovah's Witnesses and the Roman Catholic Church. I am not saying they are 100% right but if they are, Christians like yourself are going to look a little silly. BTW I don't subscribe to the idea that there is one, true faith. Experience and understanding has demonstrated otherwise.

Obvious hard work put into this, but while I am a Christian, I am embarassed by this site. It uses scare tactics from clearly biased sources in an attempt to convert people. Christ offers a message of grace and forgiveness, and you opted to frighten people with tales of damnation. Good going slick.

Okay, I must say that your site is more than descent and does appear to have quite a bit of effort put into it. While I will question whether or not it was being "non-Christian" that brought these people to such agony (personally I think it may have been their sour disposition in their life and their hatred), it is somewhat nice to see this point of view. Also, I will give you an automatic -1 for citing Cutting Edge ministries, which is a site that supports absurd and irrational conspiracy theories.

Trying to convert people over the internet using a horrid bastardization of Christianity is pretty sad. You're about ignorant as the people that say "lol religion is garbage", yet their only real knowledge and experience of any religion is what they see in the media.

unfortunately i only got about half way through the comments before 2 hours had passed and i just couldn't read anymore, so sorry if i'm repeating anything anyone has said, but, 1. assume souls exist, 2. souls must be "something", 3. anything can be viewed as energ: we assume the soul is an inner energy (lifeforce?), 4. World population keeps increasing, 5. We are constantly in need of more souls 6. The most efficent (and therefore likely) model for soul conservation is recycling souls,

Also, people whining about religous people starting wars or "Buddhists never kill people" (they have) are missing the point; PEOPLE WILL KILL EACH OTHER WHETHER THEY'RE RELIGIOUS OR NOT. People are selfish and fight a lot. Religion just happens to be one of the things that occasionally starts it. People don't need religion to help them create senseless violence (e.g. Communist Revolution).

That's it? I was expecting something interesting or thought-provoking. All we have here are 5 dubious accounts from the 19th century or before, recounted by a man who refers to non-Christians as "infidels", and we're supposed to take this seriously? You have accomplished two things here: you've wasted seven minutes of our lives, and harmed the already tarnished reputation of your own religion.

...So does this mean your whole "I'm sorry I haven't been a good forgiving and understanding Christian" YTMND (which I guess was deleted?) was just a lie? You get a one. I am of Protestant faith. Like political affiliation, what you eat for dinner, and why you choose the friends you choose, religion is of a personal business. To go out and preach religion is cheap. To go out and threaten religion is moraly criminal. To feel the need to express your personal opinion to others in a threatening type manner shows poor faith, poor self esteem, and poor judgement. To not rely on the "word of God" to show people the way show that you have very little faith.

You probably haven't taken into account that the witnesses of the "infidel" (re: People who don't agree with you) testimonies are almost entirely commited Christians. Yet as Voltaire, a personal hero of mine, once said: "I may not believe what you say, but I will fight to the death for your right to say it." Not many Christians incite this belief. Be thankful.

Though I watched this with an open mind, I have to say that this proves little. The main factor is that each account was of someone that activly rejected Christianty, and theirfore knew about the religion to some degree. When they died, they no doubt knew that they had not led a good life, and theirfore feared their death. It did not say that any of them did not belive in hell, but rather simply didnt follow Christ. No doubt they knew of the concept of Hell, and when they died, fearing death their mind

So, 3 120 year old documentations of people being scared s***less of whether or not they might go to heaven or hell and two accounts of more recent deaths, all adds up that there is a heaven and a hell? Well, there're hundreds of people who testify that they have seen, for example, zombies. Therefore, according to your own logic, zombies exist! The human brain can play tricks. Just because the castle appears colored in the mind trick ytmnd, doesn't mean it is a color photo.

As interesting as that was, I really don't see why I should care. These could be delusions, these could be cries for some kind of aid, since the persons involved know that no secular means can help them.
