And here I honestly thought the fire and brimstone preaching had died out long, long ago and that christians had moved past the dark ages of Johnathan Edwardsesque rants. Telling people "convert or you will burn in hell" not only is perhaps the least persuasive way to get converts, it goes against everything Jesus ever taught us. It was well made, but it defiles any teaching christ may ahve wanted you to present to non-believers and is a shame to Christians everywhere.
"Fan-made, or not. It's still a touching comic still. It captures the bittersweet style of some of Bill Waterson's orrigenal works. I don't care what anyone says."
QFT. Although the actual ending strip captured what watterson wanted, the joy of childhood and how there is always a new adventure waiting, even though this isn't done by him a presents a powerful message of lost innocence simply using C&H as the medium. 5'd
If you honestly believe steve irwin "had it coming", then you are a dumbsh*t. For the most part, deadly animals are only deadly to dumbasses who have no idea to handle these animals. For god's sake, automobiles kill more people worldwide every year than deadly animals do. And most of us here are in a car everyday. Why? Because we take precautions to protect us, even in the face of something that could very well be considered deadly. He did the same. If there was ever a d oubt about the safety of Steve OR the animal, the shoot would simply not be done. Steve was never reckless with his job, and took it very seriously.
My ONLY issue about it is that your two statements pertaining intelligence and life are flawed. First and easiest, life can infact come from nonlife, as is self evident as there was no life at the time of the big bang and there is life after the big bang. Intelligence is LARGELY over emphasised in intelligetn beings, as all it is is electrons firing in a certain pattern to better allow a creature to respond to its environment.
