The funny thing about this isn't even really Chuck. It's the perfect way it looks like everyone else in the chamber is disgusted, but trying their best to ignore him! Specifically Jefferson!
Thanks for the tip! I think for YTMNDs I've mostly been working with tools off of this list for years: http://ytmndtoolkit.ytmnd.com/ .
I agree that the more options the better! It does, though, feel like compared to the earlier days of YTMND the bar to gaining front page status has risen beyond reach for newer users. I'm sure the bigger problem is actually downvoters who discourage unfamiliar users. I just thought that running some short contests which focus less on execution and more on ideas would be a nice way to get some fresh ideas flowing.
Haven't worked a real job in almost a year, but I made my contribution. As for contest ideas, how about some that go back to YTMND's roots. Rules could be something like, "Must be <2000kb total" or "'Classic' style YTMNDs only" or "No animated gifs". That would help lower the bar for new users who aren't mini-.gif movie experts.
Jeez that came off condescending! Sorry about that! I just wanted you to know your site's size is larger than it needs to be. It's this damn website! I come back for two minutes and I'm already aggravated.
Can I just ask why you doubled the site's image size by using the same gif for the foreground and background instead of just using it for the foreground? I know ytmnd's standards are about as low as they've ever been, but just for the sake of getting people to sit long enough for your site to load shouldn't you at least do this one favor for your viewers?
You can edit and delete sites by going to your user profile page, go to your sites, and picking the option to edit or delete a site in the right most column. Hope that helps!
If you're not worried about ytmnd's opinion, than just regard this, but usually sites relating to someone only you know aren't that meaningful to the rest of us. So really, 1. I have no frame of reference about the person dancing, and 2. the dance itself isn't funny on its own. Hopefully that helps explain my vote.
Of course, both of those considerations for music are way different than the typical 16bit racing game music most other users would have chosen to put on this site. Actually, sounds like there could be potential for an edit like that with a 'shopped in game sprite racing around downtown.
48 seconds of prank call and 3 minutes and 12 seconds of theme music. That's a 1:4 ratio of original content to unedited movie music. You're lucky because a 1:5 ratio is where I draw the line at being too not serious. This is YTMND after all. We need to stay competitive against one another if we're ever going to have fun on this site again, right?
