I finally got Quicktime Alternative (and thereby all pre-loading YTMNDs) working again, and came back to find myself viewing Don't Tell Harry for the 11,000th view. That's kind of cool.
"I find this sort of amazing, because outside of having knowledge through the admin system, I'd never match a lot of the people to their alts. It's almost like two completely different people." In a few cases, we really are two different people. My roommate and I both have accounts on this site. We have the same IP, so we probably look like alts. He's more of a lurker though. Then again, I haven't even done that much lately. IRC goes best with an Uno bot script.
I think it's pretty sweet that a full year after this was created, it's getting more views than it did back then. I also think it's pretty sad that I have site ideas that predate the creation of this that still have not been made.
I can imagine the horror stories that would spread as rumors among parents if YTMND ever did cause a suicide. We'd be getting labeled as something "evil" like D&D.
It's not entirely accurate, no, but rather than saying "Good job photoshoping each individual frame to create a full motion video without any fuzzy edges or pixel jumping" I just used what is basically shorthand. Obviously, if it's an easy edit, I expect a good job, so I stated the obvious in a not so obvious way.
Well executed. I like the choice of site for the inside of the paper thing, though I'm almost scared to ask how you got access to the DVD to rip that video and audio...
I like the "copyright rights" bit. That's a nice touch. It's not enough that the root word of "copyright" can function as a noun referring to the rights held on the subject of copying text, but they have to make "copyright" an adjective that modifies "rights" to refer to text control. I should reserve all rights to this little post so that I can have that cool R-in-a-circle thing going on.
At first I thought it froze and that I was viewing the same site as before... I really should give you a +1 for properly syncing this thing. Oh what the hell!
It's true, and +1 for a GIF that's so custom it has to be original? Actually you didn't need the +1; I just made that up pretending to be funny. I'm aware that it wasn't.
