[...] In short, I come here to blow off steam. After a day of teaching Plato, Benjamin, or Manovich to my undergrads or, in my own studies, reading Bergson, Deleuze, Massumi, Galloway, Kittler, etc, or after sitting in seminars with pointy headed peers discussing Agamben, Harvey, Berardi, Foucault or watching Pasolini, Bresson, or some new upstart experiential video artist flavor of the month kid, well, I need a good fart joke. I need to act like an ass and joke with people who also act like asses. YTMND used to provide that in spades: mattdh12, braxton, MurdarMachene, and so many others made genuinely funny, smart and stupid sites. Then, acting like an ass shifted to acting like an asshole because that's all that's left here now. With few exceptions, everyone left is a troll, max included (though he's the least active among us). So I began to think of YTMND as a MMORPG for trolling trolls (though lately that's one "M" too many). I fuck with people I have no respect for here because it's funny (or can be from time to time), it's what's left of a once semi-productive space, and it really seems to irk some otherwise terrible people--yourself included. You're pokerfacing how angry you are at me right now but let's just say that never, not once in my entire life, have I posted to my real Facebook page that I was arguing with YOU on ytmnd.

Never, not once in my time here, have I been actually angry. Of course not. And those of you who are not idiots, who are capable of subtlety and subtext, who are not fucking retarded morons know exactly what I'm talking about. There's plenty for any well adjusted adult to be angry about in life, but it sure ain't that some moron troll on the internet called me a FAGGOT! Or that some 12-year old acting adult downvoted a site I made that he isn't at all capable of understanding. It's been a game. And sometimes it's a fun game. Especially when I know who is losing, despite their flailing attempts to deny it!
