Bullshit! These trends happen in every country where there is a large muslim population, all across the middle east. Right now, in places like Egypt and Lebanon, the muslims are burning down Coptic Christian churches and killing their members. They also have perpetual wars all around Africa.
It has even gotten to the point where large numbers of muslims are bullying their way in Europe. So many of them are demanding sharia law in England and Holland.

But catholics don't execute gays, force women to wear veils, murder those who practice rival religions (not even in Northern Ireland anymore), demand their own special law which only applies to them when they go to different countries or drive truck bombs into buildings.

First, regarding rights for gays, I don't specifically recognize them. Rather, I recognize wrongs. Wrongs not by the gays, but those who would persecute them, specifically those who would assault or imprison them for no other reason than being homosexual. I also recognize the wrong of falsely slandering them. I also recognize the wrong of finding some faith to justify one's prejudices and hatreds to justify persecutions.
I recognize them as humans. If it is wrong to assault or slander one person, then why not everyone?
Finally, I will say that Aristotle was brilliant, but I think that you are taking him out of context. Second, I disagree with his statement of humans being the lowest. How many dogs or cats do you know of who can drive cars, operate computers or create books? How many do you know of who can communicate with members of their species from around the world in real time?
