It'd be fine if they posted it once, and shared the link, but its annoying to see it posted a bazzilion times.

thats a good thing. the fact that we think its crap doesn't mean too much. other people are liking it, upvoting it, and hopefully figuring out you can click the corner triangle and navigate to the main page. what we consider trash content is exactly the kinds of easy, simple crap that a wide range of people are amused by. think of it as shitty internet ads that people click once in a while. they're done terribly but sometimes it's the defining factor that makes a product sell. besides, you can always post your own stuff on reddit. pick a site youre proud of and find the appropriate subreddit. my lady gaga star trek site got over 1000 views in one day from being posted around reddit. my iraqi diglett site got even more and i didnt even put that one on reddit.

As soon as a redditor who is interested in ytmnd investigates, they will be turned away immediately by this community; it's what they will look to for lasting value seeing as that's reddit's main draw. Random exposure from reddit does not mean it will be supplying a user base. At best, it will mean is that redditors will occassionally use ytmnd as an imgur replacement when they want sound in their gifs.

Ytmnd itself will remain a barren wasteland except for the dedicated few that remain that shun Reddit's intervention into the delicate framework carefully molded by the self-important users that have established themselves as the top of the ytmnd community hierarchy. They will eventually be forced to assimilate into reddit in fear of alienation or they will just disappear entirely--moving on to hopefully more productive matters. In this scenario, ytmnd is parasitic: it will have no life of its own and it will consist of a one-sided conflict between ytmnd and reddit that reddit will simply brush off.

Sorry if I'm being cynical, but I doubt ytmnd can satisfy a niche that hasn't been satisfied by other more capable sites, or more accurately, the niche content that appeals to us no longer appeals to any part of the greater internet community. Prove me wrong, and come up with a plan to save it, because salvaging ytmnd would be fantastic! If I pulled it off, I would almost put that shit on my resume.

he wants more worthy sites to be showcased on reddit, and not to have them on the list of Top Viewed on the main page. i think its a good thing. we're dieing and sites like reddit should be taken advantage of. we should figure out, brainstorm on a campaign to flood reddit with YTMND ads, ytmnd sites, think of a new way to infiltrate that place to gain a bunch of exposure all at once.

remember when ytmnders banned together to raid other websites? well reddit is something we should do, and not for a troll initiative but for a "lets save our dieing community" initiative. ya know? instead of harassing each other every fucking day, lets ban together and spread out crap around, figure out a way to use the formats of sites like reddit to our advantage.

it can be done

I am up for a raid and you made a very good point. As i said in my post below they should post sites and we do have an old ally of years past, but they may be reluctant to help us. I'm pretty sure they raided us on gabbly once by sending hundreds of people and having them use the same name. When it happened i was like WTF, but now i think i understand. To really stop us from dying those of us who can make good sites need to, but a lot of the best ytmnders get busy with college and then stop. I have tons of ideas yet i do nothing with them. I got a copy of photshop for xmas from my gf, but i haven't used it yet. I mean maybe if i didn't play minecraft and didn't have a gf then i would take out way more time for ytmnd in my freetime, but both of those things are so addicting. I want to make a NSMB animated in minecraft like this: http://i.imgur.com/HOXrR.gif, probably made by a ytmnder or at least a former ytmnd browser, but seriously that would take sooooooooo incredibly long. The other thing that would help this site is for Max to fix the problems like no stars or the gay background.
Also "http://www.clownpenis.fart" lol! this site deserves a 5 for the inbound links.

I hate reddit with a passion. I shall take some time to elaborate. You will probably agree with me on all of it. First off I'll admit I view reddit Minecraft because idk where else to get update information (don't use twitter or tubler) and i like seeing all the crazy stuff people have made and i like when they post like a server that's a maze that i can go in and try to make it through, but this is the only thing i do on that site. 2nd I only know it exists because my roommates last year used it and talked about it all the time. Literally all the time. They'd reload their front pages like every ten minutes but for sure every time they got on the computer. A bunch of times they would read posts or view pictures about how engineers have no time to ever do anything and my roommates (engineers) would agree, yet they all seem to have time (tons of redditors are engineers) to reload the front page tons of times. Sometimes they would show me a gif and i'd be like oh i saw that a long time ago on ytmnd. A lot of reddit is posting links to sites and stuff, but it pisses me off when they post a gif from a ytmnd instead of just linking to the ytmnd (this probably happens with tons of other image sites as well). Half the posts/threads/whatevers on there just come up once a month. I'll digress with an example my friend who is sent reddit links from his other friend saw the "this is a wasp, he will fuck shit....." and thought it was the most amazing thing ever I had already seen it like a year ago and he was like oh. I understand that reposts can be funny if you have never seen them, which i'm sure there's a bunch of people who haven't, but give the credit to the original post or replace reposts with the old one. Like YTMND if someone resposts a site seriously they get deleted/terrible rating/the original site linked; maybe they need to have some kind of archive to stop this cuz it's retarded. There's like a thread once a week "confi

"confidence is fake, girls only like douchebags, girls never like nice guys, it's impossible to get a gf" and like 90% of the users agree (as well as 90% of users agree with any thread that is big). Seriously these people are more hopeless than 4channers, 4channers will at least rape chicks or get hookers or know the reason they "can't" get a gf is because either they don't care or know they are unappealing to most girls. Another thing related to 4chan there will be a single reddit thread about a single FBF (foul bachelor frog), and tons of people will go omg me too me too....etc and chances are that this is stolen from 4chan or somewhere else online or a repost, whereas on 4chan you get a thread of hundreds of FBFs (very often original content) and people save what they agree with or whatever and few are like oh wow that's me but most just look for themselves. Redditors need internet validation/compliments (karma) because they don't get any in real life because they are completely socially incompetent. Obviously not all redditors are like this, i'm just saying on average, and yes i did just pretty much say that i respect 4channers more than redditors (wtf 4channers is not a misspelled word according to firefox, yet firefox is). Most of their real lives revolve around being antisocial by using reddit. Also they are all complete far left liberals and think everything they think is right. Honestly the best choice is the middle, every thing is best in moderation. But these "intelligent, genius, most morally correct" people would rather blindly go to one side because that's what "all educated people believe." Another thing i hate is all there blatantly obvious (or witty as they would refer to them) being praised as godly. Ex. "Aliens vs Cowboys starring Harrison Ford and Daniel Craig (popsicle) looks awesome" first reply: daniel, we're gonna have company; replies to that "

OMFG I know that movie and that line that's so perfect for this how did you thank of that i'm literally rofling orgasming you are amazing good sir." Way to over dramatize an obvious joke/pun/whatever. They think they're the smartest place on the internet, they are for sure the most unfoundedly (not a word, don't care-->reddit would flip tit shits at a spelling/grammar error, but chances are the person who made it does not give a fuck) arrogant place on the internet. When they link a youtube video and people comment about reddit, 2 people will make posts like "reddit is evil and you will get viruses when you go there, i did." They assume that every single dumb youtuber will go to reddit and like it and ruin. In reality they only people who will go there from youtube and actually use it will be the antisocial, socially retarded people who fit in perfectly with the people who already use it. Yeah they do some good things like give people money and jobs and help and stuff, but mostly it's a crap hole and they themselves are assholes for thinking the way they do about how superior they are because they use reddit. In conclusion regarding your argument with lickit that i skimmed, they should post ytmnds all they want because it helps keep this site alive, but they should make it clear that they are not the site maker if they are not, and they should never steal the gif without giving credit. They should beware of what happened to ebaums for stealing lindsay lohann, but perhaps there is currently no retribution to fear because ytmnd is dying, but maybe our alliance with 4chan in war could be rekindled just like when the elves decided to help man again against the orcs at the battle of helms deep. I hate reddit. I respect gr33nscr33n more than reddit, he's just a troll who probably doesn't relate much of his real life to ytmnd, whereas redditors wish they were trolls whose lives don't revolve around ytmnd,

when they are really just real life social failures who use reddit as their means to socialize and have it control their lives.

8bit, it sounded to me like this is how you felt, so i just wanted to let you know that you're not the only one.
