I hated this game, but I liked the atmosphere it created.

Nowadays Metroid games have no atmosphere. Too much electric guitars.

SAMUS IS UNDER FIRE. I don't know, I thought the Prime games had plenty of atmosphere. It just didn't match Super Metroid in any way. The moody music combined with the dark, alien palette made the game unsettling. The fact that the game was actually GOOD helped too; a huge planet to explore and the ability to explore it any way you wanted if you felt like learning the tricks to sequence break made the game playable in many different ways.

Why 412 frames? You could have made an equally good loop with like 4 frames.

It's one of the funniest sites on YTMND. I always liked it, but forgot about it when the favorite system was implemented. You reminded me of it with your sponsor so ++++happiness to you. I'd have f*cked the sh*t out of her too anyway.

So is she going to grab it or what?
October 6th, 2008

She stands in quiet contemplation, considering whether or not she really wants to grab a ball being held by a Chozo statue.

Elevator room... Still a 5 tho

No, this is absolutely the item room music, but does play near some elevators as well. However, this is the first missile power up in Old Tourian. The music that actually should be playing here is 'Crateria - Raining' but I didn't want to go to the next power up held by a Chozo (Bombs) because I'm lazy.

OH CRAP! I knew I saw this before! Sigh. Now my YTMND doesn't feel as special. I couldn't find it because it had no title so I thought it was deleted or something. Sorry, Tumult. Not intentional.

In retrospect, no offense Tumult, but my loop is better.

I love it. It's nice, ambient ytmnds like this that I can have playing all the time that brings back good memories. I would LOVE to see more Super Metroid material like this from other areas, even the 'Crateria - Raining' part. Thanks. - J

Seems like the song is missing a beep. Still gonna fav this and the others though cuz I'm a huge metroid fan. Good efforts on these.
October 8th, 2008
(0)
Nope. Just listened to it in game for three loops, and it's not missing a beep that I could tell.
October 8th, 2008
(0)
i was just thinking - it's possible your browser is cutting off the last beep, since the loop is pretty tight and short.

I sponsor to throw money back at YTMND and do it through my sites to give them exposure to people that actually might care. It's win/win.

You know you can buy SMetroid for virtual console for $10 right?
October 9th, 2008

But why buy it when you can get it for FREE FROM THE INTERNET? SNES Emulator + Wii = Better than VC.

I could sit and let this music play forever. Back then, they spent lots and lots of time on good games like this. With the technology they have now, I still wish they would do another game like this. When you finally reached the Mother Brain, it played out like a movie.
