smells like old news. scam organization preying on the rich and dumb. though, wrong as it may be, f*ck the rich, if they cant figure something better to do then give their money to scammers, they could at least set fire to it (and themselves) to keep warm for a minute... would last longer.

theres definatly no difference between cults and religions, but when money gets involved it blurs the line between religion and buisness. once its powerful enough it becomes a political entity, unless your talking about a secular society.

I dont like scientology, but they cant make me give them any money, so I treat them as a novel group of idiots. I just hope that the rest of us remember who we are as a secular society. If you want to scam people on the basis of saving their souls, that is between you and them.

Now there are allot of christians in this country, and I think allot of the flak gunned at Scientology is due to the fact that isn't a christian relligion. Theres a real historical pressident for this in how the Jupiter/Juno worshipers of Rome saw the new religions that were pouring into their country. Even though the new religions didn't beleive in Jupiter they still had to give token respect to him, maybe we're doing the same thing with yahweh on money and in the capitol.
