But it's a fact. He doesn't know how much impact mankind has on it. It's factual. Stop running negative commercials against Mitt.

Warming the planet via co2 and thinning traffic are obviously comparable endeavors.

The last ice age ended less than 200 years ago, in the past 1000 years the temp of the surface of the earth has risen 0.3 degrees, COINCIDENCE?!
January 2nd, 2008
(0)
by the technical definition we're technically still in the butt end of an ice age and will be as long as there are polar ice caps.

The World has had global warming for thousands of years. There used to be ice sheets going across Canada down to where New York City currently is. Yet, somehow, they retracted without the use of smokestacks or SUV's. Sometimes, the earth gets cooler too. Back around the time of the vikings, Greenland was arable land and had forests. A couple centuries later, it got frozen over. Farm tools and tree trunks were uncovered from beneath the ice sheets.

300 years ago, we had something called 'The Little Ice Age'. Yet things got much warmer quickly, WITHOUT the use of smokestacks, refrigerators or sports cars. In the 19th century, there was the Krakatoa volcanic explosion. It was known as "The Shot Heard Round' the World". Lots of smoke, ash, pollution and other junk got launched into the air, traveling for thousands of miles. As a result, the world had 'The year with no summer'. LOTS of carbon went into the air.
January 2nd, 2008
(2)
According to the logic of Al Gore, that amount of carbon that was spewed into the air from Krakatoa should have turned Earth into the planet Venus.

I'd say Dennis Miller is about as qualified to speak about global warming as al gore, probably more qualified, but i think dennis miller's a good guy
January 2nd, 2008
(-2)
I'd say its pretty clear Al Gore is more qualified, simply from years and years of experience. However as much as I dislike Miller I wouldnt disqualify anyones voice so long as they have their facts right.
January 2nd, 2008

And nobody has their facts right like Dennis Miller, defender of the universe.

He has some insightful things to say, but this slip up was too funny.
January 4th, 2008
(0)
it was a strange thing for him to say... kinda funny ... i'm not one to say GLOBAL WARMING IS A SCAM but i have my doubts and they are MANY. You guys treat this like a PANDEMIC so "solutions" are proposed in all the wrong way... like taking it out on the automotive sector which makes up like a FIFTH of only OUR SHARE of CO2 emissions
January 4th, 2008
(0)
ps. wind energy and solar energy in large scale use are both a joke. we're supposed to be conserving and saving our environment yet wind mills take up HUGE plots to make a SMALL impact! also... it takes more energy to produce a solar panel than it will EVER produce in its ENTIRE LIFE. why are you guys so afraid of nuclear?

we live in a free market society, the price of oil is sky rocketing anyway so if i buy a motorcycle to save gas it's that's exactly why... to save money on gas, therefore taking care of the problem... I do believe however that America needs to be in the lead on finding an alternative hopefully non-CO2 emitting energy source (bio fuels are a joke since 90% of America would have to be farm land in order to wipe out our need for foreign oil) This is what will make us the leader tomorrow for when oil is not...

January 5th, 2008

"we live in a free market society" Actually, we live in what's known as a 'mixed economy'
January 9th, 2008
(0)
.....i know we live in a mixed market society, SOME governmental involvement is ok with me
January 9th, 2008
(0)
Sure. It's perfectly fine to have enough government involvement to arrest those who breach contracts, commit fraud, bribe politicians, embezzle, and commit other forms of theft. You also want to make sure the bankers and investors are working with real money, and not just overinflated credit. Not a zero government guy myself.

January 2nd, 2008

its hard to ignore chemistry, it works. the fact is that we know how much co2 has been put out their, we know it retains heat better than other gasses, we know that along with our escalating producution of said emissions, the planets temperature has and will continue to rise. i could also show your a freggin picture of global temp rise over the past 50-100 years. instead of getting all pissed off because of the political implications, the question we should be asking is what the end result will be.
January 2nd, 2008
(0)
its wrong to for us to think we could do whatever we wanted without any implications, since all of our food comes from many of these organisms that would be put into harms way. we wouldn't be the first organism to alter the composition of our atmosphere. so... when do we stop with the co2, when will it end and what will the result be? there are really 2 things that will determin our destiny on this planet, how many resources each person uses, and how many people there are.
January 2nd, 2008

yet, mankind has been on this earth for tens of thousands of years....
January 2nd, 2008
(-1)
"yet, mankind has been on this earth for tens of thousands of years...." - faulty argument. do the math about population growth, and do the research on human industrial development vs emissions. its pretty arrogant of us to assume that since we've been here for tens of thousands of years that we'll be here for tens of thousands more.
January 2nd, 2008
(-2)
"Why is it arrogant? Mankind excels at adapting to damn near anything." -Total habitable land on Earth: 52,000,000 square miles. Know how much that is? Not enough.
January 2nd, 2008
(0)
Well, if it makes you feel any better, white people and various asian cultures are going to start declining. Europe is going to go down. So is America. Frankly, if we did not have all this immigration, our population charts would say that we were decreasing. Pretty much the only places where mankind is growing its populations are in the third world. So, I can almost guarantee you that the people you criticize about population growth are the wrong ones.

Another thing that I read is that you could fit all the people in the world inside the lower 48 states of the USA, with enough food and water for everyone.
January 2nd, 2008
(0)
let me figure this out: drastic global warming measures to protect the future = bad. drastic immigration measures to protect the future = good? Do you care about what happens to future generations or not? ...and for the record, if industrialization is causing, or helping, global warming - i'd say the third world menace looking to cut your grass and have babies aren't on the top of my sh*t list. too busy mining diamonds so rich c*nts can look pretty at the opera to ruin the world on a grand scale. nope, That’s our job!
January 3rd, 2008
(1)
I read once that we could fit every person in the world into Alaska, we wouldnt have enough food or shelter for them but we could squeeze everyone in there. BTW I'm not mocking madDog, i'm just making a funny.
January 3rd, 2008
(-1)
"drastic global warming measures to protect the future" more like destroy it "drastic immigration measures to protect the future = good?" WTF? NO! "Do you care about what happens to future generations or not?" When did you stop beating your wife? "i'd say the third world menace looking to cut your grass" I cut my own grass "and have babies aren't on the top of my sh*t list." Let them have babies, I don't care. "too busy mining diamonds so rich c*nts can look pretty at the opera..." ???

Why, praytell, do we need to make the Universe hotter? Save it for a civilization higher up on the totem pole. No one asked that of us.
January 3rd, 2008
(0)
And if he's referring to global warming, he's just a f*cking idiot. How can we make the Earth hotter??? I dunno, how about burning oil and disgusting sh*t for hundreds of years? Could we put all the worlds chimney stacks in one place and see them fill the sky completely with poison and still have him say that in the midst of it? The guy is witty and funny, but once he started working with Bill he's just as worthless and miserable a piece of republican sh*t as that guy is.
