Oh, he's very popular Ed. The sportos, the motorheads, geeks, sluts, bloods, waistoids, dweebies, dickheads - they all adore him. They think he's a righteous dude.

Many of my 80's favorites were recorded in 79 and 78 and did not become popular until the 80's. I've been living a lie :(

I don't remember the 80's. I think i saw a guy with a woman in one hand and a kilo of coke in the other try to rob a store, only to be chased away by a shopkeep. Other than that, it was a blurry haze of pleather.

Was David Bowie as Ziggy, John Lennon, and that f*cked up Batman logo a part of the 80's too ?
November 14th, 2007

Yes, yes, and the bat was to represent ozzy which was in fact in the 80s. I love you, boomaga, come back to vent.

You still use Vent, kory? One of these days I'll get on again for more than five minutes. Don't hold your breath. Nice site btw.

That pic of Bowie is from "Low" which is 1977. Lennon may have had a hit album in 80/81, but he's a 60's icon when you come right down to it. A batman logo can't represent Ozzy just because you say so because, well, a Batman logo has Batman's f*cking head silhouette on it.

That picture of bowie is a vector made for him from his show at Wembley. Lennon is there in black and white to symbolize his death. The bat may look like the batman logo but in fact was drawn by me. I did a little flare here and there but it looks nothing like batman unless batman has the silhouette of a flaming homosexual. Its still a loose representation of the 80s.

http://tinyurl.com/2wf4s8 is how the logo looked like in the 80s, much more circular and the ears are slightly pointy and stretched out.

Ok, I was born in 1981 and barely remember sh*t before 88. All I need from that decade is post-punk, Nintendo, and the NWA. I'll never understand the boner people have for 80's nostalgia, but it irritates the crap out of me. It's worse when it's kids born in '92, who think EVERYTHING that came about before 2000 was in the f*cking 80's! I am so ready for a wave of 90's nostalgia, a decade I actually remember. This YTMND is pointless, lame, and about 2 years late riding the wave of nostalgia.

Why are the turtles ones of the biggest icons of the 80's when the majority of their popularity was in the early 90's? I think you want Voltron, GI Joe, or Thundercats. And is that John Lennon?
