1. There is no aircraft carrier called the US Lincoln. It is the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72). 2. In 1995, it was homeported out of San Diego so they wouldn't have referenced themselves as the largest ship in the Alantic Fleet.

I thought this was the USS Montana that had this incident. Antibasic is right on everything stated, I happen to be homeported with this carrier that he mentioned. Lincoln's PACNORWEST, but SOCAL at the time.
