Technically -100 Kelvin would be that temperature . . . (Yes, even though it's not possible)

If above zero indicates an exothermic state, and zero means a non-thermic state, maybe below zero indicates...a anti-thermic state? Not simply an energy vacuum, but something that physically reduces energy within matter....er. Nevermind.

0 kelvin is where there is no atomic or sub-atomic movement. it cant get any slower than that.

I have a feeling we will be seeing Flashing Bill Nye again in the future.

By international agreement, absolute zero is defined as precisely 0 K on the Kelvin scale, which is a thermodynamic (absolute) temperature scale, and -273,15°C on the Celsius scale. Absolute zero is also precisely equivalent to… 0 °R on the Rankine scale (also a thermodynamic temperature scale), and –459.67 °F on the Fahrenheit scale.

Bill Nye yo!
February 4th, 2007

the coldest theoretically possible is around 3 kelvin, if something were to ever reach zero kelvin.....who knows what would happen...but it would have more dire consequences than WTFboom

Epilepsy Bill Nye gets my vote
February 4th, 2007
(0)
i apologize...according to sources (aka wikipedia) it has gotten down to 4.5x10^-10 degrees K meaning .00000000045 K is the coldest....sh*t man
February 4th, 2007
(0)
Well, considering the fact that 32 kelvin is less than zero, then that would mean that a negative exothermic state is possible. IF a subatomic particle can't go SLOWER than not moving at all, then wouldn't you consider the fact that Bill Nye is flashing. nubs. go back 2 skool n lern ur syience.

LOL, 0 degrees Kelvin = -273.15 degrees Celcius = absolute zero Temps can't go below absolute zero for you retards out there who dont understand this YTMND

Yeah they got really close to 0 K, I recall some professor talking to my lecture about it in Physics a while back, some lab in France if I'm not mistaken.

google is gonna implodes the internets if they keep this tomfoolery up
February 5th, 2007
(0)
they actually achieved -1 kelvin
February 5th, 2007
(0)
No, YOU broke the law by putting in an imaginary value. Google just did the formula K=C-273
February 5th, 2007
(0)
Well if read as an exothermic chemical equation then it could be the release of 100 degrees K from the system. That's the only way in which the expression -100 K could exist. Also 5 for Bill Nye and for science in general.

For those who don't get it, all molecules are constantly in motion. In solid form, they vibrate and not much else. Our concept of temperature is really a measure of how fast those molecules are vibrating. The more they vibrate, the warmer it feels. 0 Kelvin (AKA Absolute Zero) would be when the molecules are not moving at all. They are perfectly still. Any temperature lower than this would be physically impossible, as you can't get any stiller than perfectly still.

Frosty the Snowman, has melted on my lawn, his hat eventually enchanted the grass, and the grass became a demonic plant monster... The monster attacked the city, and then there came some terrorists, they wanted to destroy the city, before the monster did. They grabbed a flamethrower, and set the monster on fire, the monster became a flaming inferno, and fell straight to the ground. The hat was burned along with the earthly monster, and so it came to seem... Breaking the LAWL is GOOD!

you're an idiot. of coarse google gave you back a physically impossible number through its automatic -273 formula, but you gave it a physically impossible number that means the exact same goddamn thing so you are the idiot.

impossible to get to -375 k (or something like that. they havnt gotten to that cold yet. wierd cuz my chemistry teacher talked about this sh*t 2day)

That is great
February 5th, 2007

I wonder if Google divides by 0 too....
February 5th, 2007
(0)
ya, but that's like saying "if an object weighs -100 pounds, how much gravatation force does it have?". it's an impossibility. google just applied the numbers to a mathematical formula and is technically correct. if -100k were theoretically possible, that is the correct equivelant celsuis temperature.

Ok look, I think this is pretty good, I'd five it, but I'm with the guys who understand this. Kelvin is just a unit, doesn't matter that you're getting an impossible value, fact of the matter is if someone said -300 degrees Celcius no one would really care, even though that's just as impossible, or -100 metres. Anyway, good job I still liked it
February 5th, 2007
(0)
I lol'ed because I'm a nerd.
February 5th, 2007

No, google is right. 0 kelvin is -373.15 degrees celsius. -100 is still technically -373.15 degrees celsius. Funny though
