congratulations on pairing a picture of some ugly *ss f*ggot and a song that has no relation, all under meaningless text about a children's book.

Directly? Indirectly. Very few fantasy novels have NOT been "jacked" from Tolkien. Hugely influencial towards the genre as a whole, for the better or worse. Eragon is original in plenty of ways, if you're not ignorant enough to notice. In other news, the site is nonsensical, and thus, unfunny no matter what perspective you take.

You're kidding, right? Eragon's elves and dwarves were stolen directly from Tolkien and the plot itself was stolen directly from Star Wars.

Nice Logical Fallacy, Raiyen. You think he didn't steal from them two? Hell, the damn title of the book is from LOTR. "The novel has been accused of relying heavily on genre clichés and themes popularized by earlier novels such as J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. Paolini employs stock characters, such as Elves, Dwarves, and an Orc-like race known as Urgals, complete with an elite sect known as the Kull, comparable to Saruman's Uruk-hai. Furthermore, the plot bears decisive similarities to the plot."

You can take an old idea and blatantly rip it off and make a decent book about it. It's the fact that Eragon is blatantly lifted from existing popular stories with shallow stock characters and stringing them togeather with convoluted, unconvincing, and overly fluffy writing. His book sucks, his writing sucks, and in general he sucks just a little more than this site.

you only wish you were a success like him. Don't we all get inspiration from everywhere? Video games constantly mirror each other. Movie Scripts. How many movies have you watched and said "Hmmm where have I heard this before" Too many movies were inspired by "Cinderella" or "Gone in 60 seconds" So yeah, maybe he got the ideas from other directors. you sound like your just angry because you didn't think of it first.

Except it wasn't inspiration. It was PLAGIARISM.

You're an idiot who has no comprehension of logic, Sorvea. If I was to speak theoretically and abide by your shoddy logic, I could say that everything is copied. Hell, everything we learn, we copy from somebody. You're not understanding the primary point here, you damn moron; HE COMPLETELY RIPPED OFF THE STORYLINE AND THE GENERAL IDEA OF LUCAS AND TOLKIEN! The storyline is exactly the same as Star Wars and the races and such are a direct mirror of Tolkien's work. Sorry, but you fail. And f*cking terribly.

Don't pretty much all fantasies have elves, dwarves and/or orcs, or some variations thereof? Also, how the hell is Eragon's storyline in any way related to the Star Wars plot? No seriously, I am asking, I have no clue.
(0)
Not all fantasies do. If they do, they're usually pretty different form Tolkien's elves and dwarves. Eragon's elves and dwarves were almost exact mirror images of Tolkien's. And it'd take me a while to explain how Eragon stole from Star Wars, so look up the articles on Anti-Shurtugal.
