Chrono Trigger music = Rick Astley? (Listen)
Listen to the whole thing. 80's pop star Rick Astley may have inspired music in Chrono Trigger. See http://megarem.ytmnd.com/ for inspiration.

When Robo combines with Lucca and Magus, their resulting Omega Flare--like this site--is godly.

also auto-Fav for somebody making Poland angry. You won't like him when he's angry.

They have the same meter and they're both in the same key and that's really the extent of their similarity

OMG NEDM HUR HURR DUH! Compare Queen's "Under Pressure" to Vanilla Ice's "Ice Ice Baby" if you want to hear a rip-off.

Yes, Rick Astley music was stolen. He wrote it first. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rick_Astley If it was intentation or not, Chrono Trigger stole from him.

Things in music will sound similiar, it happens. Hell, if you want to get down to it, alot of bands uses the chord progressions in Pachavel's Canon.

You should of put them in separate audio channels and played them simultaneously.

Didn't somebody already do a site that put the two songs together? It was like "Robo is never gonna give you up.." or something, and it put Robo's sprite in the music video. Anyway I've always thought they sounded eerily similar but it's definitely not a rip-off.

lol, nice! I thought of this also when I heard "Never Gonna Give You Up" for the first time. The funny thing is, the chorus for Rick Astley's song fits with Robo's personality >_>

But in the end of Chrono Trigger, Robo makes Lucca cry. Unintentionally though lol.

Haha, I just IM'd a friend about this after I noticed it in-game, and sent him this link after a site search. I knew YTMND'd be the best place to look for something like that.

Even in the year 2300, Rickrolling still exists. That's how far this meme is going to reach.

I remember thinking this when I played Chrono Trigger the first time, but back then "Never Gonna Give You Up" had gotten so obscure.

Wow they do sound alike. Is it possible that Rick Astley was the sole inspiration for the Chrono Trigger soundtrack? LOL
September 26th, 2022

I can't prove that this is where rickrolling came from
that fad turned meme turned mainstream and the whole time I've got this baggage associating the whole thing with Robo's theme from chrono trigger
