Amish Nonconformists
Two Amish women experiencing the wonders of electronics. Sorry about the blurry second picture. I was only able to get 3 pics and wanted to show them all. Also, these girls WERE amish because I spoke with and asked if I could photograph them. The one in t

Yes, Ominous, I'm well aware of rumspringa. This was meant to be a joke pertaining to generalized perception and stereotypes of the amish. Time for you to get a sense of humor.

Actually, they're probably mennenites(sp?) and they're allowed to "interact with the outside world". Simmilar dress code, but not as strict. Either way, finding either one in an arcade is priceless, so, 5'd!.

I've met quite a few Mennonites, and though I've occasionally seen a few of the females in bonnets, they mostly wear "street clothes" - I mean, no sparkly "Bitch Goddess" baby-T's and ass-hangin'-out Daisy-Dukes, but you know, jeans and flannel, cause they're farming and sh*t. With Mennonites, each single church has different rules, some more liberal than others. What's my point ? Just that when I visit the authentic Amish massage parlor, I tell the girls to keep the bonnet on.

Good photos. Don't worry about the technicalities of those lacking humor. I smell an Amish fad coming on.

some mennonites get tarted up till they're indistinguishable from the irish. i mean amish. if i had a magic wand, i'd change this title to amish rebels

I have found the Amish in Western NY to be a bit liberal. I always see the Amish use pristine pretty vans to take the family shopping to Save-a-Lot, and they are wearing their traditional clothing.

5'ed because Motorcycles are classically associated with rebellion and they are riding two virtual motorcycles in the arcade. Though, technically I think they are mennonites like my brother used to meet flying around the country at the airport. :) Still, 5 because we imagine they could be amish. :)

See the description. These two young ladies said they were Amish, not Mennonite. Either way, it's just meant to be a chuckle-worthy ytmnd, not a I-have-skills-at-spotting-and-identifying-the-differences-between-amish-and-mennonites contest. :P

being Amish is silly. If you're against technology you might as well throw out all your material posessions and live in a cave naked. Technology is here to make our lives easier.
