Geoffrey Chaucer tried to "embellish" the English language and make it his own, but it took Shakespeare to get it right. Chaucer is a pompous hack compared to Shakespeare.

Yeah... did you know that we didn't invent english in the 1900s and send it back in time for them to embelish? In fact, he wasn't even speaking English... he was speaking Middle English... the version of the language that preceded... you guessed it... modern English. Amazing, isn't it?
