Letting the swing lose momentum, little Lindy's kicks turned to sporadic jerks as she angrily searched for a melody to her imaginary song. She sat there almost ten full seconds after the swing became still until she yanked herself out of that idle moment. She kicked at the dirt, rolled in it, dragged her fingernails through it. She stomped up the slide and then stomped down the slide, pounding loudly through one long scream. She throttled the rope ladder and imagined it was the tiny neck of a fairy character from a TV show she pretended to like.
I could go on and on, describing ways little Lindy spazed out by herself, unsupervised at the playground. I don't really want to keep going. Basically, this was going to be a story about a little girl finding her first little pubic hair sprouts and being upset and confused by it. Then, I was going to make Barney come out and ask what's wrong and when she tells him, he was gonna be all like a pervert and shit and ask her to show him. I was gonna find a way to describe Barney's purple and red anus, but then I thought "Geez, I'm better off getting back into drugs."
