The Chernobyl disaster is the worst nuclear accident in history. A few kilometers away is Pripyat, a town built for the workers at the Chernobyl Nuclear Plant. All its residents, almost 50000, were forced to evacuate their homes, assured they would return a few weeks later. They never came back. Pripyat is now a decaying ghost town, and it will take hundreds of years before the zone is habitable again. Its landmark, the ferris wheel, is still standing untouched, as a reminder that not everything that seems glorious is meant to be completely safe.
