The stages of YTMND
Found this image on "teh intarwebs". I thought it was insightful, and I see that happening to YTMND. We're at stage 3, which wouldn't be a horrible place to stay. I hope we don't make it to stage 4.

Hm. You obviously haven't heard the term NARV. I'd say that word and surrounding phenomena is proof of stage 4. But, as YTMND is content based, and not really conversation based, this doesn't really apply.

I have heard of NARV, but I disagree that this doesn't apply. The "conversations" on ytmnd.com are the sites created, and the votes/replies attached to them. "Still an enjoyable place to join" is true, but "Animosities erupt between users..." strongly reminded me of the "civil war" that erupted after Max got his advertising deal (Remember, Max is not only the president, he's also a client). We do have some of the traits of stage 4, but I don't think we're quite there yet. Hopefully, we don't get there.

I wasn't referring to the forums, I was referring to ytmnd.com proper.
