I might get around to make the text more readable, but I only made this because Exploits of nothing pissed me off.

I 5 this because I just hate how dumb Peteguy is! He is inaccurate and wrong on SO many levels I can write a whole freakin' book on how dumb he is!

Also, that was honestly hilarious ... why are people downvoting it? :/

cuz ppl r smart enough to realize God exists. Your ytmnd, is a lot easier to believe with the whole God creating from nothing cuz well, He is God... If He couldn't do that, then He wouldn't be God, now would He?

Peterguy has his beliefs. Others have theirs. Everyone is right in holding their beliefs because the only reality is that which is experienced individually by indviduals. Each viewpoint seems so ridiculous to others because it is simply not the truth as experienced by others.

Everything is relative, including God. Saying that only one religion is right puts God in a very small box. He is accessable to all. Realize that for atheists, 'science' is God as for Christians, the Trinity is etc.. Don't argue, everyone is right, and everyone is equally incorrect.

GoodVibes, you're almost there. You see, all beliefs are not RIGHT or CORRECT. A belief is only right (a fact or 'theory') when it has SUBSTANTIAL SOLID REPRODUCABLE PHYSICAL EVIDENCE. Otherwise it's a hypothesis with a equal probability of being true as all other kinds of nonsense.

And Peterguy should learn how to spell before getting in big philosophical discussions that are way too complex for his small mind. Seriously, first you train your mind and and then you start taking part of the discussion.

No, science is not like God. Science is constantly questioned, we don't swallow it because some priest sodomised us with a candle when we were young. We don't kill people because a book tells us to. Genital mutilation is not a work of science. Science doesn't burn books or keep people from knowledge. Science is orthogonal to religion and everyone but ID nuts understand that.

Just because the energy-out-of-nothing hypothesis doesn't have substantial evidence, it doesn't mean your hypothesis about '1' smart entity called god creating the earth in six days is true. I can pull out a million other explanations out of my -ass and they're AS equally probable. Why? Mine + yours ALL lack evidence. Come back when you can bring solid proof and evidence!

and just as fabjan mentioned (somewhat,) science evolved out of 'Natural Philosophy'. Finding the truth about nature through REASON and NOTHING ELSE! That's why it works for EVERYTHING, and that's why religion has NO use for ANYTHING!

This topic must be too big for me. When I start to think about it I get stuck at who married Adam and Eve so they could have sex without going to hell.

I find both YTMNDs absolutely wonderful, but I agree only only with scientific observation. Nothing's exploits are much more believable than the exploits of gawd.

Science explains the Creation, not necessarily the Creator. We can infer some things about the Creator from the creation. What suprises me is that a lot of atheists won't think outside of the box, and take everything at face-value, without questioning its greater worth. 3'd for satire.

Meh. More opinionistic, innacurate crud. But a couple funny bits.

inaccurate? I was f*cking reading genesis as I made it! Then I put the two creation stories in the order that mainstream biblical scholarship think they were made up. And no brainchild, I don't want to think outside the box, that's what scientologists and homeopathists do. f*ck the outside of the box, I like it in here.

"We can infer some things about the Creator from the creation." -- That's when you turn into a jackass! You see, if I'm behind a wall and I hand you a cookie I made, can you infer from that cookie how I look, sh*thead?

The problem with what Peterguy did is that he sponsored his own site to try to spread is beleifs. It's nice that he's donating money, but by doing this he's using YTMND as his own little mission.

pretty funny. but if Peterguy responds to this with another site i'm 1'ing all of these.

Heh, funny jokes and all, but it's easy to take shots at people who stick their asses out in the air. I'm 5'ing this because it doesn't have someone pumping money into it for publicity.

Exploits of Nothing was absurd. I'm glad people are making YTMND's to counter it. The Brian Peppers with the Earth was good. I'm going to give it a five for its intention and everything.

although i don't like to take sides, the atheists et al have defended themselves much better than the religious in this topic. religious debate is healthy if mutual respect is maintained.

I find this fad very enjoyable. But not one of these fads has explained to me why my daddy abused me last night? Was it simply the CH3OH (alcohol) that reacted with his brain cells that somehow moved to the nucleus of his DNA and ultimately sent electrical signals to his other nerves causing a chain reaction and ultimately performing the act of "abuse"? Or is he just a slob who disrepects his wife, is bitter at the world, and is missing a little love/care in his heart? You decide.

Ok, First off, why does christrianity seem to piss everyone here off? Yes, I believe that the whole "Exploits of nothing" YTMND Peterguy made was very arrogant and self rightious, but how is this any different? Yes, what Peterguy did was wrong, he tried to shove his beliefs on everyone, but don't you realise that you are doing the same thing by insulting all those who believe something that contradicts what you believe? I am I a catholic and believe that Genesis was written as metaphor, not scientific fact.

in other words, cna we all just a gree to disagree and use this site what it is meant for, funny-looking cats and fad music?
August 3rd, 2006
(0)
Yes, his site was arrogant and self-righteous. So is mine and I like it that way, religion is a social construct that needs to be purged from this planet. There is no need for it and it just makes people generally miserable and trigger happy. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secular_Humanism

Fabjan, why does religion insult you so much? If you don't believe in religion that's just fine, but why do you feel it necessary to insult and demean everyone who disagrees with you? It's not like someone else beleiving in God hurts you. Yoou're a rligious bigot, and you areno better than a racist or an anti-semite.

"religion is a social construct that needs to be purged from this planet." lol, good luck with that, 16% of the world is atheist/non religious. That's 84% of the world you're trying to 'purge' That's roughly 6.6 billion people. Good look 'purging' that.

the same "16%" that actually know how to make computers, cars, lasers, nukes, and plastic; so morons like peterguy can keep playing with toys they will never understand.

huhm, actually, it would be innaccurate to say that that specific sixteen percent is the only percent of the world that has an understanding of technology. Quite frankly, I'm caught between being to apathetic and too lethargic to cite any sources, but I prefer the force of "Reason." Just think about the odds of only sixteen percent of the world having the mental capacity for understanding technology. Well, I'd say obviously that sixteen percent would be the japanese, who design many a crap load of stuff.

(cont'd:), and the chinese, who make it for us in sweat shops (although there are various other countries that help). Meh. All I really wanted to say was that religion sucks (including athiesim), and science blows (the scientific community have in fact been it's own greatest enemy many times over.) I'm not here to flame, I just wanted to be sure to make obvious the lack of neutrality being maintained, and just point out that everyone's being extremely closeminded and vehemiently opposing any beliefs that

(cont'd, again) that differ from our own. You know, something like that "here, let me try and see how you see things" crap, without muttering something about it not being possible due to one's head being up one's ass. We could all benefit from trying it. Screw it, I give up on this idealsim sh*t, cynicsim's easier. Oh and I take no responsibility for my spelling or grammar, so don't pick me at that.

Uh, icn, my entire family is Catholic and guess what we do for a living? we own and operate a custom P.C. sales and repair shop, so you can go STFU and spread your ignorance and bigotry elsewhere. Seriously, if you want to be atheist or agnostic, I'm fine with that, it's insulting otherpeople's beliefs
August 4th, 2006
(0)
(cont'd) that is a problem. And just for the record it is the Catholic Church's official stance that the bible is not in contradiction to science but rather that books like genesis are meant to be thought of as metaphor and not scientific fact. Yes, fundamentalists taking the book of Genesis out of proportion and trying to get it tought in schools is very, VERY wrong, but don't persecute all christians for what fundamentalists do, and what's with this "purge all religion!" bullsh*t? are you some sort of

(cont'd)Neo-nazi skin head? I'm sorry, but you're making yourself look like a HUGE douche bag Fabjan, and not even doom music can make up for that.
August 4th, 2006

ok, I'm fiving this solely because of the arrogant remarks from the religious. All religious are supposed to believe that they are right. But you guys act like you know that you're right. There's a big difference.

Didn't Jesus teach love and understanding? You're not exhibiting any of those qualities.
August 4th, 2006

I'm not angry at Fabjan for being atheist, I can understand that and quite frankly, I don't care what he believes, it's him insulting everyone who is a member of any religion an idiot and saying all religion should be purged that pisses me off. Oh, f*ck it, I don't care anymore, Fabjan, you can continue being a douche bag, I won't say anything.

Blacklantern thinks atheism is a religion...LOL! P.S. He also spelled it wrong. P.P.S. I am actually Jesus, follow me into the light my children rofl.

Spykes, you confuse debate and criticism. If you were so sure of your beliefs, you wouldn't get so easily pissed off. Defend yourself, because you sound immature and stubborn at the moment. Fabjan is the only one presenting facts.
August 5th, 2006

And when you start insulting people instead of respectfully rebutting comments(the douchbag comment) you accept defeat. The one who begins calling names clearly has no way of supporting himself.

LOL computer sales! "workin' with c'puters" is not the same as being able to design, or even use, a single transistor. Also, in 1939, Hitler's birthday became a Catholic holiday. For several years, Hitler was receiving official presents from the Vatican. Umm, for some reason, they don't like talking about it anymore... http://www.nobeliefs.com/nazis.htm

+5 creativity, -4 for disrespecting. Yeah, you can not believe in God, christianity, or religion as a whole, but when you insult those who disagree, then you cross the line into jerkdom. Just blatently calling those who have personal religious convictions 'morons' and such is very intolerant and disrespectful. If someone says 'I believe in God' you jump all over then yelling 'STOP CRAMMING YOUR PROPAGANDA DOWN MY THROAT'... Makes a lot of sense.
August 18th, 2006

I'm not running around yelling. The exploits of nothing was being crammed down my throat though, it was on the sponsored list in place of something interesting.

Why the f*cking tabu with disrespecting religion? It does create a LOT of problems in the world, why is it not ok to talk about that?
