During the arrest of Luigi Mangione, police found multiple fraudulent IDs, a U.S. passport, and a firearm with a suppressor. Additionally, officers recovered a handwritten MANIFESTO. He gave Unabomber high ratings - ID'ed as Luigi Mangione, 26, ex-Ivy League student - Described himself online as "anti-capitalist" Luigi Mangione reportedly had a two-page manifesto with the following quotes: “These parasites had it coming…I do apologize for any strife and trauma, but it had to be done.” One of his most active accounts was on the book review platform Goodreads, where he said he read 65 titles on topics ranging from Elon Musk to dieting. The account did not show any record of him having read or commented on “Delay, Deny, Defend,” a book about the health insurance industry; police said shell casings found at the scene of the shooting had the words "delay," "deny" and "depose" written on them. Inside the Peak Design backpack, authorities found a Tommy Hilfiger jacket and Monopoly money. Like a true Italian, Luigi Mangione's fatal error as an assassin was giving himself away by stopping to flirt with the cashier at the cafe before going to work.
